Derby
County midfielder Ben Osborn and defender Jake Rooney brought smiles and skills
to Kellogg’s Football Camps delivered by Derby County Community Trust
this week, held at Derby Racecourse Hub.

Their visit was a big surprise for the young footballers enjoying the summer holiday sessions.
The players wasted no time getting involved, jumping straight into mini matches with the children, encouraging the next generation of Rams.
Their presence added great excitement to the day’s activities, especially during the ‘Coaches Challenges’, where both players offered expert tips and motivation.
Three lucky winners were awarded medals by the Derby duo, celebrating their great effort during the challenges. The excitement didn’t stop there as Osborn and Rooney went head-to-head in the ‘players challenge’, taking turns in a crossbar competition to score points for their respective teams.
Adding to the fun was Derby County’s beloved mascot, Rammie, who joined the younger children for a penalty shoot-out.
Sam Howard, Community Coaching Lead at Derby County Community Trust, shared his thoughts on the visit by saying: “It’s great to have the players down at the Kellogg’s Football Camps. Our camps are about keeping children active and connecting them with the club, so to have players down to be positive role models adds that extra touch.”
The Kellogg’s Football Camps, delivered by the Community Trust in partnership with the EFL, run throughout the summer across multiple locations in Derby and Derbyshire, including Derby Racecourse Hub, Belper Leisure Centre and Rykneld Sports Centre.
Each session is led by qualified coaches, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for children of all abilities to enjoy football and stay active during the holidays.
