Defender Mikayla Wildgoose has joined Derby County Women ahead of the 2025/26 season.

A youth international with Northern Ireland, Wildgoose represented her nation at the Under-19 European Championships in the summer of 2023.
She rose through the ranks of Birmingham City’s Academy and featured in their squad in the Women’s Championship (now WSL2) on eight occasions at the age of 17 in the 2021/22 campaign.

In the 2022/23 season, Wildgoose gained first-team experience on a dual-registration deal with Loughborough Lightning in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division.
She impressed at the third-tier level with Lightning, and her performances caught the eye of Burnley, where she gained further game time after joining in the summer of 2023 in the Northern Premier Division.
She joins Head Coach Sam Griffiths’ side looking to bring defensive steel to the Ewes’ back line, becoming Derby’s fourth addition of the summer before the 2025/26 season.
