Derby County Women will begin their 2025/26 FA Women’s National League Cup campaign when they head to Coronation Park to play Notts County on Tuesday evening (7:45pm kick-off).

The Ewes have been drawn into Group P of the newly-formed Group Stage of the League Cup competition, in a group of four alongside Notts, Lincoln United and Sheffield FC.
Head Coach Sam Griffiths will be looking toward the Tuesday night clash as a chance to kick-start the season after her side suffered defeat against Rugby Borough on the opening day of the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division campaign on Sunday, with the hosts scoring six second half goals without reply.
The match comes in a three-game week for the Ewes who, following Tuesday evening's match, will play their first home fixture of the season against Loughborough Lightning this Sunday (2pm kick-off). Tickets for the Loughborough clash can be found by clicking here.

The 2025/26 season has seen a change to the format of the FA Women’s National League Cup, with the introduction of a group stage and entry of Professional Game Academy (PGA) sides, who last season competed in the Plate competition for the first time.
Teams will initially be drawn into 22 groups of four teams, from which the 22 group winners and 10 best runners-up will advance to the Cup knockout stages. The other 12 runners-up and 20 best third-placed teams will advance to the Plate knockout stages. From there, both the Cup and the Plate will hold four knockout rounds before the final.
Notts County Women FC was established in the summer of 2018.
The Magpies have been managed by Adam Dunleavy since their founding. Having operated at Tier 6 of the women’s football pyramid for their first three seasons, the club were promoted in 2021/22 following a successful application to the league.
After just two seasons at that level, they moved up once more, joining the FA WNL Division One Midlands, Tier 4 in the pyramid, ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Over the last two campaigns, they have steadily improved in the league, registering 10th and 7th-place finishes. Last season, Notts won 10 and drew twice in their 22 league matches.
