ACADEMY NEWS: Young Rams Called Up For October International Duty

Four Derby County Academy prospects have been called up for international action during the October international window.

Under-21s midfielder Cruz Allen, Under-18s midfielder Sean Corry and out-on-loan duo Daniel Cox and Darren Robinson, will join up with their respective nations over the second international fixture period of the 2025/26 season.

Cruz Allen - Wales Under-19

Midfielder Allen, who has made three appearances in Premier League 2 for the Rams’ Under-21s this season, will join up with the Wales Under-19 squad for their three international friendlies.

He will be hoping to add to his six previous appearances for the Welsh Under-19s side, having also featured for his nation through the age groups.

The young Cymru side will travel to Marbella for their fixtures. They will face Switzerland on Wednesday 8th October (2pm kick-off) before meeting the Netherlands on Saturday 11th October (5pm kick-off).

Wales’ last match of the break will come on Tuesday 14th October (12pm kick-off) when they go head-to-head with England.

Daniel Cox - Wales Under-21

Centre-back Cox, who is on a season-long loan with Sky Bet League Two side Walsall, will join up with the Wales Under-21 squad for the second time, having been promoted up from the Under-19s side in the September international schedule.

The Cymru Under-21s will play UEFA Under-21 EURO 2027 qualifying fixtures against Belgium and Austria in Group I.

They first face Belgium at Newport County’s Rodney Parade on Friday 10 October (7:30pm kick-off), before flying out to play against Austria in the city on Linz at the Donauparkstadion on Tuesday 14th October (5pm kick-off).

Darren Robinson - Northern Ireland Under-21

Robinson will join up with the Northern Ireland Under-21s side as they play UEFA Under-21 EURO 2027 qualifying fixtures against Malta and Germany in Group F.

The 20-year-old midfielder is currently out on loan with League of Ireland Premier Division side St Patrick’s Athletic on a deal that runs until the end of November 2025. He has so far made five outings in the Premier Division since joining in August.

Robinson will be hoping to add to his previous 10 caps for the Northern Ireland Under-21s over the break in their two matches.

Both fixtures are being hosted at The Oval in Belfast, beginning against Malta on Thursday 9th October (7:45pm kick-off) and finishing on Tuesday 14th October when they face Germany (5:30pm kick-off).

Sean Corry - Northern Ireland Under-19

Midfielder Sean Corry has been selected to link up with the Northern Ireland Under-19s squad for their two friendly fixtures.

The side, managed by former Premier League defender Gareth McAuley, will face the United States (Saturday 11th October, 2pm kick-off) and Switzerland (Tuesday 12th October, 5pm kick-off).
