Defender Dion Sanderson feels that Derby County’s back-to-back wins last week were a positive step in the right direction - and is looking forward to kick-starting their busy three-game week ahead of the November international break at Sheffield United on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

The Rams will make the trip up the M1 to take on the Blades at Bramall Lane following the successive 1-0 victories over Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers at Pride Park Stadium last week, showing a perfect reaction to the 1-0 reverse at Oxford United.
Sanderson sat down with RamsTV at Moor Farm Training Ground to look ahead to another busy week of Sky Bet Championship action.
It is what we were looking for, for a while. I’ve mentioned plenty of times about making Pride Park a horrible place to come to for the opposition and those two games is something we can build on. It was good after the final whistle last weekend to get two wins in a row, but then straight away it was a case of looking forward to Sheffield United very quickly.

For myself, it was great. I’ve been searching for it since the start of the season. I thought the atmosphere was incredible in both matches last week. It was great for the team, everyone was buzzing. The spirits around the camp in training have been high this week. It’s baby steps to where we want to be, but it’s a great start.

Obviously, there is that momentum when you win a game, and we want to build on that as well. We have been very strong in our structure and our shape anyway. Yes, we can be better across the board, everyone knows that, and the lads know that. It just about doing the basics well We’ve done that pretty much through all the games that we’ve played, and it’s a shame we haven’t got the results. With the last two wins, I think they have been very important for us and especially the QPR game. I thought how we started that game in the first half on the ball, it shows the quality that we have in the team, and we can make things happen. It is exciting.

I’m ready to go again. Off the back of two wins, it’s important to have time to look at the things we have done well and get ready and get focussed for three big games this week. I’m definitely excited. I feel like we have got good momentum now, training’s been really good. The boys are up for it.
