Derby County defender Jake Rooney has joined National League side Boston United on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 22-year-old spent the first half of the campaign on loan with Sky Bet League One side Barnsley, where he made seven outings before returning to Derby earlier this month.
Rooney, who joined the Rams in August 2022, has featured 23 times in black and white, with playing time hampered by knee injuries over the last two campaigns.
The defender made starts in the Carabao Cup against both West Bromwich Albion and Burnley for Derby back in August.
Having also played for Barnsley, he is ineligible to play for another team in the EFL this season. Rooney will look to gain vital match minutes when he joins The Pilgrims.
