ACADEMY NEWS: Four Young Rams On Duty in March International Break

Four Derby County Academy players have been selected to represent their nations across the March 2026 international fixture period.

Under-21s players Jack Thompson and Cruz Allen have all landed call-ups to test themselves on the international stage, as have Under-18s midfielder Kacey Myers and forward Sean Corry.

Goalkeeper Thompson has been selected for the England Under-20 squad for the second time this season, having received a late call-up back in November 2025.

Thompson was on the bench for the Young Lions against Japan Under-22s, having previous international experience with England squads from Under-15 to Under-18 level.

He will head out to face Italy Under-20s in a friendly match at the Riano Athletic Centre on Friday 27th March (3pm kick-off).

Allen will look to add to his 12 caps for Wales Under-19s when he links up with the Young Dragons.

Allen has made 16 appearances with nine goal involvements across Premier League 2 and Premier League Cup competitions for the Rams' Under-21s so far this season - and made his Sky Bet Championship debut for John Eustace's side in last month's away trip to Watford.

He has been chosen to represent the Cymru Under-19 side for the last two international breaks and will once again join Chris Gunter’s side, who play a friendly match against the United States Under-19s in Valencia on Saturday 28th March (11am kick-off).

Myers, who signed for Derby as a first-year scholar back in November, will join up with the Gibraltar Under-19 squad for the first time as they head to Antalya to play Turkey (Tuesday 24th March, 1pm kick-off), Kosovo (Friday 27th March, 11am kick-off) and Armenia (Monday 30th March, 1pm kick-off) in U19 Euro Qualifying fixtures.

Meanwhile, Corry, who has made 17 outings in the Under-18 Premier League – North for Bradley Johnson’s Young Rams this season, will link up with Northern Ireland’s Under-19s and also be in U19 Euro Qualifying action.

The Green and White Army travel to Romania to face Ukraine (Wednesday 25th March, 9am kick-off), Romania (Saturday 28th March, kick-off TBD) and Lithuania (Tuesday 31st March, 4pm kick-off).
