Derby County’s Academy confirmed the signing of Scottish goalkeeper Sam Kane in October 2025 as a free agent.

He joined Danny Maye’s Under-21s squad after departing Scottish Championship side Queen’s Park in the summer of 2025.

Kane started his career with Rangers before moving on to Queen’s Park, while he has also spent time at East Kilbride and Stranraer on loan.

While at Stranraer during the second half of last season, he made eight league appearances as they recorded an eighth-place finish in Scottish League Two.
