Derby County’s Paul Coutts and Kieron Freeman have today parted company with the Rams to join Sheffield United.

Coutts has joined Sky Bet League 1 side for an undisclosed fee while Freeman has joined the Blades as a free agent after the remaining 18 months of his contract were cancelled by mutual agreement.

Coutts, signed from Preston North End in the summer of 2012, made 67 appearances for the Club in total, scoring twice, with nine of those appearances coming this season after returning to fitness following a long-term knee injury sustained in September 2013.

Freeman had found first-team opportunities limited since the beginning of last season and spent time out on loan at Notts County, Sheffield United and Mansfield Town. In total he made 27 appearances after joining Derby from local rivals Nottingham Forest at the beginning of the 2012/13 season.

Both players leave with the Rams’ best wishes for the future and thanks for their contribution on and off the field.
