Players Check In For Testing

Derby County’s players reported back for duty this morning to begin their preparations for the 2017/18 season.

Gary Rowett’s squad checked in at the University of Derby to undertake a series of tests and have their fitness assessed following the summer break, under the watchful eye of the Rams’ medical team.

The players underwent similar testing in early May before signing off for the close-season.

Each member of Rowett’s squad were handed summer fitness programmes to adhere to, in addition to technology to download and upload their workload, allowing the coaching staff to monitor their progress.

The players will check in at the Training Centre on Thursday morning to take in their first official training session ahead of the new season.

The squad will then fly out to Tenerife on Sunday (2nd July) for a week-long training camp, before returning to the UK to kick off their pre-season friendly games programme.
