Derby Round Off Tenerife Trip

Derby County’s week-long stay in Tenerife is nearing its conclusion – with Friday’s training session their last before heading home on Saturday.

The Rams have been based in the south of the island since last Sunday as Gary Rowett’s side continue to prepare for the upcoming 2017/18 Sky Bet Championship campaign.

With the heat soaring ahead of the weekend, the players took in a gym session at their on-site complex this morning.

Following time to recover in the afternoon, the players pulled on their boots once again for their final training session of the trip in the early evening.

The Rams played three 15-minute 11 Vs 11 matches, allowing Rowett to watch his side in a proper match situation for the first time since reporting back for pre-season training last week.

The session didn’t end with the games though, as the squad were put through their paces one final time in the heat by taking part in a series of shuttle-run sprints before heading back to their rooms.
