Thursday proved to be another energy-sapping day for Derby County’s players in Tenerife.

The Rams once again took in a double session as their week-long stay in the Canary Islands edges towards its conclusion.
Derby have been at their training base in the south of the island since Sunday and will return home on Saturday, before preparations for the 2017/18 Sky Bet Championship season crank up a notch.
Today’s morning session saw the attacking and defensive players work on separate pitches with members of the coaching staff, before coming together for a 11 Vs 11 match.
This allowed manager Gary Rowett to observe his side in game-like situation and assess all of his squad, a week after reporting back for pre-season training.

As normal, the players were given the early afternoon off to recover before heading back out onto the training pitch for an early-evening workout.
This time, there were no footballs to be seen as the squad took on a number of sprinting exercises and were pushed to their limits.
Another double session is on the agenda on Friday and it promises to be another enduring day with the workload showing no sign of easing up.
