Gary Rowett is likely to shuffle his pack ahead of Derby County’s trip to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday, with his side looking to get back to winning ways after the draw with Norwich City on Saturday.

Rowett stuck with the same eleven that eased past Brentford for the visit of Daniel Farke’s Canaries, but despite Matej Vydra scoring his 18th goal of the season, Derby had to settle for a point.

The Rams now head to Yorkshire looking to extend their impressive run of form on the road, and the boss is likely to rotate against a Wednesday side that are still looking for their first league win under Jos Luhukay.

Rowett told RamsTV: “We’ve got to be mindful of the fact that they have a new manager, you don’t want to be the team that they click against and get that positive result.

“They have a lot of injuries at the moment, but we’ve got to go and put on another away performance.

“I think it suits us to go away from home, there is not as much expectation.

“We’ll go there looking to extend that run and win the game, as we have done so often this season.”

Regarding team selection, he added: “On Saturday, I was very close to putting a couple of players in from the start, but after beating Brentford 3-0, I wanted to wait and see if we could recreate that type of performance.

“We couldn’t do that, so it makes my decision easier, and there are probably one or two that need to come out for physical reasons.”

The overriding feeling at the weekend was one of disappointment, but the draw saw Derby extend their unbeaten sequence to 12 games.

Rowett believes that the post-match emotion just goes to show the standards that his team have set for themselves this season.

He explained: “We’re unbeaten in 12 games but yet we’re disappointed. I think that shows how we’ve done and the expectation to win every game.

“In the last four or five games, we’ve not been able to turn draws into wins, we haven’t found the extra bit of quality to win some of those games.

“It’s what happens in this division, if you’re not quite on your game, then teams will cause you problems.”
