Derby County’s Under-18s will look to continue an upturn in results when they travel to Middlesbrough in the Premier League - North, kick-off: 1pm.

After a run of three straight league defeats, Justin Walker and Rory Delap’s side claimed victory in their previous outing against Lancashire outfit, Blackburn Rovers.

Goals from Jayden Mitchell-Lawson, Yoann Greco and Morgan Whittaker overturned a two goal Rovers lead to secure a 3-2 win for the Rams at the Training Centre in Partnership with the University of Derby.

Early headers from Blackburn’s Flavien Enzo Boyomo and Kyle Connell opened the scoring before Mitchell-Lawson coolly slotted home a penalty to half the deficit shortly before the break.

After half-time Greco was on hand to draw the teams level, a piercing run and pass from Tyree Wilson found Greco, who then made himself space to nestle the ball into the net.

The impressive comeback was then completed by Whittaker ten minutes from time as he bent a stunning shot beyond the goalkeeper from the right-hand side of the penalty area.

Derby currently occupy sixth place in the Premier League – North table with Middlesbrough sitting three places lower in ninth.

The Boro have won on four occasions over 13 games during a steady season for the side from North Yorkshire. They defeated Blackburn Rovers 3-1 in their previous league outing.

The last time Derby met with Middlesbrough was back in September as a 3-3 draw was played out.

Kick-off on Saturday is at 1pm and the match is being held Middlesbrough’s Rockliffe Park Training Complex.
