There were many individual performances which pleased manager Frank Lampard in the 2-2 draw against Premier League side Southampton.

Jack Marriott and Tom Lawrence got on the scoresheet for the Rams but the manager reserved notable praise for his squad who made a telling impact.

“Special mention to David Nugent coming off the bench because he does it time and time again,” Lampard told RamsTV. “He injects an energy and desire into the game where it reflects around the team and rubs off on people.

“I also thought Craig Bryson was absolutely immense in terms of energy, tackles and winning things and trying to change a game that is going away from us. I don’t always like to praise pick out individuals, but Duane Holmes had a fantastic game as well. The turn of the game was all down to the energy we put into it.

“I thought Kelle Roos did really well. He certainly isn’t going to save any of those goals. He made some good saves and looked comfortable so I’m pleased for him.

“The position of second or third goalkeeper is a difficult one when you’re not playing much so it takes good character and personality to do that and he’s shown that today.

“For Max Bird, he will play many more games. I feel bad for him because I had to change something to get us back into the game but it’s a great experience for him. He’s a really good young player and he will get more opportunities.”
