Derby County Under-23s will be back in Premier League 2 Division 1 action tonight when they travel to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester City (7pm kick-off).

Darren Wassall’s side will be looking to return to winning ways in the league and build on their Premier League Cup victory over Aston Villa earlier in the week, secured with a 2-1 win, when they take on the Foxes.

THE STORY SO FAR…

It will be a battle of two of the leagues top teams when third-placed Leicester host fourth-placed Derby. A victory could see the Rams move up to second in the table with five league fixtures left.

The last time these two teams met at the King Power Stadium, for the final game of the 2017/18 season, Derby secured their place in the top division. A wonder-strike by Timi Elsnik gave the Rams an early lead but three late goals by Leicester saw them take all three points in a 3-1 success.

Earlier this season, the Foxes handed the Rams their first defeat of the season with a 2-0 win at Pride Park Stadium.
