Manager Frank Lampard could be without a key defender for tomorrow’s Sky Bet Championship clash against Swansea City.

Fikayo Tomori picked up a dead leg on Saturday in the 2-0 victory against Bristol City and limped off in the first half.

He was replaced by George Evans who put in a solid display in his absence, however, the news on Tomori could keep him out of the game at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday evening.

“Tomori had a bad dead leg,” Lampard revealed, speaking to RamsTV. “A dead leg doesn’t sound like a serious injury, we have all had small ones, but this was a really bad one.

“He is getting intense treatment now so I haven’t got an answer on him yet and we will see how he is right up until the last moment before the game.

“It was really pleasing that George came in and did so well. Coming into a game of that magnitude and playing so well, I am delighted with that.”

The Derby boss has, however, been handed a boost further up the pitch.

“Duane Holmes is in contention again,” he said.

“He was for the last game but we were just being a bit careful with him. Hopefully he is another step closer in the few days gap that we have had.”

Midfielder Craig Bryson is still missing after suffering an ankle ligament injury against Queens Park Rangers on East Monday.

One man who is back with the Rams is midfielder Andy King.

The on-loan Leicester City player has been sidelined for the last two months with an ankle injury but is close to returning to full fitness.

“He came back last week and is in the latter stages of his rehab so it will take him 10 days to two weeks for him to get fit to be in contention,” Lampard commented.
