This time last year, full-back Jayden Bogle helped Derby County’s Under-23s stave off relegation but was yet to make his professional debut.

Fast forward 12 months and, with 49 first team appearances under his belt, he is now preparing to play in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final against Aston Villa.

It has been some rise for the 18-year-old.

After being handed his debut by manager Frank Lampard in the Carabao Cup clash against Oldham Athletic in August, the defender has gone from strength-to-strength.

A string of impressive displays have followed. He currently stands at the top of the club’s assists chart and has contributed two goals, one coming in the vital win against Play-Off hopefuls Bristol City in April.

After victories against West Bromwich Albion and Leeds United on the final day of the season and in the Play-Off Semi Finals, the promising teenager now stands one game away from achieving his dreams and reaching the Premier League.

“It is the biggest game of my career and a lot of the other players in their careers as well,” he told RamsTV.

“That is the main focus now, we haven’t won anything yet.

“We beat Leeds in a tough game and it may have felt like a Final, but ultimately it wasn’t. The main focus now is on to Monday against Aston Villa and I think if we perform like we did against Leeds then we have got a great chance.

“The fight that we have in the squad is brilliant and we have shown that multiple times this season. When we have gone behind in games, we haven’t given up and we have always kept going. I think that is a big part of the squad.

“With the youth in the team and the more experienced boys, that is what we have got. We have the chance that we know if we do go behind, we have the ability to bring it back and if we do go ahead. We have the quality to carry it on.

“It is something that I have dreamed of as a kid to play in the Premier League. We haven’t got a better opportunity, especially us as a team, and everyone has dreamed of playing in the Premier League.

“Some already have, some haven’t and to get this club back into the Premier League would be a massive thing.”
