There have been many impressive comeback victories involing English sides in recent weeks and Derby County joined that illustrious group last night following their 4-3 aggregate victory over Leeds United to book their place in the Sky Bet Championship Final at Wembley Stadium.

Last week, the Champions League saw remarkable comebacks by Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. The Reds overturned a three-goal deficit against Barcelona whilst Spurs scored a late winner against Ajax in Amsterdam to ensure both booked a place in the final of the Champions League.

Yesterday, the Rams produced a similar comeback, coming from two goals behind to set up a clash with Aston Villa to decide who plays Premier League football next season.

Midfielder Mason Mount was at the forefront of the celebrations last night and his goal just after half time levelled the scores on aggregate whilst he played a key role in Jack Marriott’s winner.

It was a night that will live long in the memories of Derby County supporters and Mount had belief that the Rams could achieve something special at Elland Road.

“I can’t put it into words,” Mount told RamsTV. “You see Liverpool and Tottenham come back and do it and you have that belief before the game that it can happen.

“They were big goals, especially Jack’s. The first half was tough, they got a goal and we get one back.

“Coming out in the second half, we get another goal, a lucky goal, and then we get more. It’s such a tough place to come but we did it.”
