Manager Frank Lampard has praised Derby County's supporters ahead of the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final against Aston Villa at Wembley Stadium.

The Rams fans have backed Lampard’s squad throughout the season and on many occasions have proven to be the club’s 12th man.

They have been vocal, both home and away, and they have witnessed some incredible moments along the way.

There is one game to go and Lampard paid tribute to them ahead of the big game with the prize of Premier League football on offer.

“Thank you for your unbelievable support,” Lampard told RamsTV when asking what he would say to the fans ahead of the clash.

“I came to the City about 10 months ago, drove here, but I felt football.

“Since I’ve been here, the welcome I have had from the fans, the support they have given the team, the travelling away support, culminating in that game against Leeds in the Play-Off Semi-Finals is something I will never forget.

“Thank you is what I would say. Enjoy the day and I hope the players give the passion, the feeling and the desire that they have.

“This game is for them and for Mel Morris, and others, but first and foremost them, because they are the club.

“I will be proud no matter what happens but we desperately want to win this game for them.”
