Derby County’s Craig Bryson is to leave the club this summer following eight years at Pride Park Stadium.

Bryson, 32, has today signed a pre-contract agreement with Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen which will come into effect when his Rams deal expires at the end of June.

The midfielder, who joined the club from Kilmarnock in the summer of 2011, was offered fresh terms but has instead elected to take on a new challenge north of the border.

The popular Scotsman racked up 276 appearances in all competitions in a Derby shirt in total and netted 42 goals.

He was the Jack Stamps Player of the Season winner on two occasions, during the 2011/12 and 2013/14 campaigns, and was also named in the Championship Team of the Year for 2013/14.

His finest moment in a Derby County shirt came in March 2014, when he scored a hat-trick in the Rams’ 5-0 thrashing of bitter rivals Nottingham Forest at Pride Park Stadium.

Derby County would like to take this opportunity to wish Craig well in the next chapter of his career and thank him for his service to the club, both on and off the pitch, during the last eight years.
