Derby County’s 2019/20 Sky Bet Championship fixture list has been revealed – and the Rams will start the season with a trip to Huddersfield Town.

Frank Lampard’s side will head to the John Smith's Stadium on Monday 5th August 2019 (7:45pm kick-off) for their first match of the campaign, after it was selected for live coverage by Sky Sports.

Huddersfield are back in the Championship following two seasons in the Premier League, meaning Derby’s curtain-raiser for the second time in three years will be against a side relegated from the top-flight.

Derby’s first home fixture of the season at Pride Park Stadium will be against Swansea City a few days later on Saturday 10th August.

What Does The First Month Of The Season Look Like?

Following the trip to Huddersfield for the season opener and then the first home game of the campaign against Swansea, Derby will then play four more league fixtures before the month is out.

They will hit the road and travel to Stoke City on Saturday 17th August, before facing back-to-back home games against Bristol City on Tuesday 20th August and West Bromwich Albion on Saturday 24th August.

The opening month will then conclude with a trip south to take on Brentford on Saturday 31st August for the Rams’ last-ever trip to Griffin Park, with the Bees due to move into their new stadium next summer.

When Do We Face Nottingham Forest?

Derby’s first local derby clash of the season against Nottingham Forest will be at the City Ground on Saturday 9th November.

They will then face the Reds at Pride Park Stadium later in the campaign on Saturday 4th April.

What About Leeds United?

Derby and Leeds United locked horns four times last season, twice in the league and twice in the Play-Off Semi-Finals.

Derby will visit Elland Road on Saturday 21st September, before welcoming their old rivals to Pride Park Stadium in their final home game of the campaign on Saturday 25th April.

Who Do We Face Over The Festive Period?

Derby will play four times over the festive period, starting with a visit to Reading on Saturday 21st December in their final match before Christmas.

Boxing Day has handed the Rams an away fixture at Wigan Athletic, before ending 2019 with a home fixture against Charlton Athletic on Sunday 29th December.

Derby will also kick off 2020 on home turf, taking on Barnsley on Wednesday 1st January.

Who Do We Face On The Final Day Of The Season?

The final day of the campaign will see Derby make the short journey across the Midlands to take on Birmingham City on Saturday 2nd May.

What About TV Selections?

In line with the new Domestic Broadcast Agreement with Sky Sports coming into force from the beginning of the 2019/20 season, further amendments have been made to the TV Selections Policy.

The minimum five-week commitment remains in place for the majority of the season but the rolling basis period commences for matches taking place from 7th March onwards is to be shortened to four weeks’ public notice.

The date of rolling selections commences on 7th February for matches from 7th March onwards. The notice period remains at three weeks for the penultimate weekend of the season as per the amendment in March 2018.
