EFL NEWS: Carabao Cup Draw To Round Off Fixture Release Day

Derby County will learn their first opponents in the 2026/27 Carabao Cup when the draw is made on Thursday afternoon.

The Rams will discover their Round One fate at 4:30pm as part of the EFL’s Fixture Release Day, with the draw to take place live on Sky Sports News.

Round One features 70 clubs, regionalised into Northern and Southern sections. The Rams find themselves in the Northern half of the draw.

John Eustace’s side will be looking to secure passage to Round Two once again - a feat the Rams have managed in nine out of the past ten seasons.

The draw forms part of the EFL’s Fixture Release Day, in which Derby will also discover their Sky Bet Championship schedule for the upcoming campaign. The full league fixture calendar will be released at midday.

Derby will meet six new opponents in 2026/27. Burnley, West Ham United, and Wolverhampton Wanderers return to the division after they were relegated from the Premier League, while Bolton Wanderers, Cardiff City, and Lincoln City were promoted from League One.

Round One of the Carabao Cup will kick off the new season, with ties set to be played over the weekend of 7th-9th August, while the Championship campaign starts the following weekend.
