Derby County full-back Max Lowe played the full 90 minutes for England Under-20s in the Maurice Revello Toulon Tournament on Tuesday.

The defender, who spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen, put in a solid display.

He was, however, unable to help the Young Lions to victory as they were beaten 3-2 by Portugal.

Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah put England ahead in the opening minutes of the game, but three goals before half time put Portugal in a commanding position.

Joe Willock pulled a goal back late on for the Young Lions, who are managed by former Rams player and coach Paul Simpson, but they fell to their second defeat of the competition after losing 2-1 to Japan las weekend.

Fellow Derby youngster Jayden Bogle did not feature in the game, after landing his first-ever international call-up for the tournament.

England will be hoping for a response in their next fixture as they face Chile on Friday 7th June (7:30pm kick-off).
