Derby County full-back Jayden Bogle is preparing for his second full season in professional football - and he's raring to get going again.

The 18-year-old made his breakthrough last season, in his first season as a professional, appearing 50 times for the Rams and scoring two goals.

His fine form for Derby was recognised at the end of the 2018/19 campaign as he won the Young Player of the Season award, whilst he was also earned his first international call up to the England Under-20 squad.

He made his Three Lions debut in the Toulon Tournament last month, however, he is back now with the Rams and excited to return to pre-season training.

“It has been a good break, but I have been looking forward to getting back,” he told RamsTV.

“It is very different to the start of last season in the sense I hadn't made my debut, but I come back with the same attitude. I am ready to work hard and get myself in the best possible shape for the upcoming season.

“Being away with England was a great experience. It was my first time so it was all new to me, but I enjoyed every part of it and hopefully there is more to come.

“I have been looking forward to getting back here and getting ready for the new season.”

Pre-season is all about getting ready for the new campaign, both mentally and physically.

Building fitness back up is the main priority and Bogle wants to get himself in the best possible condition..

“I am still quite fresh so I’m not too concerned,” he said.

“It has to be done and at the end of the day it is what is best for all the players and gets you in the right condition.”
