Derby County fell victim to an added time goal to leave Oakwell with a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw with Barnsley.
The visitors opened the scoring early through Aapo Mowatt’s headed effort following a free-kick into the Derby area.
However, Chris Martin levelled the scoreline with his third goal in as many games before Tom Huddlestone converted from the penalty spot to give the Rams the lead moments before heading into the break.
The Tykes drew level in added time when Cauley Woodrow turned in a late corner from close range.
Youngster Jayden Bogle returned to the starting line-up for the first time since sustaining an ankle injury in August while Tom Lawrence also returned to the starting XI to replace Scott Malone and Florian Jozefzoon.
It was an even opening first 15 minutes at Oakwell, with both sides coming close before Barnsley found themselves on top. After nine minutes, Woodrow sent a shot just wide with the outside of the post. Shortly afterwards, Huddlestone’s deflected shot from 20 yards forced a strong save by Brad Collins
Just a minute later, the home side opened the scoring. Alex Mowatt floated a free-kick into the area from the right and Halme’s powerful header flew past Kelle Roos.
On the 20-minute mark, the Tykes came close to doubling their lead when Mowatt’s corner was sent to Woodrow but his effort was blocked on the line by his own team-mate Toby Sibbick.
The Rams began their turnaround with just more than ten minutes to go in the half. After good build up play, Jamie Paterson floated a cross in from the left. As Martyn Waghorn rushed into meet it, he was blocked by Mads Anderson which gave Martin time to jump on the loose ball and fire into the bottom corner.
Derby took the lead two minutes before the break from the penalty after Lawrence was brought down in the area by Andersen. Huddlestone stepped over it and coolly converted to open his account for the season.
However, the midfielder pulled up with an injury straight afterwards and was replaced by Matt Clarke who slotted in at centre-back to allow Krystian Bielik to move forward into midfield.
Roos made sure the lead was maintained shortly after the restart when he blocked Bahre’s low shot with his feet.
Derby continued to look bright on the attack and a great ball by Bogle floated to Chris Martin at the back post, who headed back across goal but there was no one there to tap in.
Despite the Rams dominating the half, Barnsley came close to equalising twice in the last ten minutes but were first denied by Bogle’s block on the line, before Roos palmed away Mowett’s free-kick effort which was heading for the top right corner.
They found the equaliser in added time from a corner which Woodrow was able to tap in following a corner.
Derby will return to Pride Park Stadium on Saturday to take on Luton Town, where they will look to end on a high heading in to the second international break of the season.
