Liam Rosenior has challenged Derby County to take their winning run at Pride Park Stadium in the Sky Bet Championship.

Derby return to action on home turf with clash against Wigan Athletic under the floodlights this evening (7:45pm kick-off).

The Rams will go into the game off the back of back-to-back home victories, against Birmingham City and Luton Town, prior to the October international break.

Phillip Cocu’s side, however, did taste defeat for the first time since the end of August with a 3-0 reverse at Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

Rosenior says Derby need to show a reaction to the loss at The Valley, their first in five games, and continue to build up some momentum in front of their own supporters.

So far this season the Rams have recorded two wins, three draws and a single defeat at Pride Park.

Speaking to RamsTV, Derby’s Specialist First Team Coach said: “Pride Park has been a good place in terms of the back-to-back wins we got before the international break.

“I think it has been a good place in terms of our performances in general and I think we have deserved to win a lot more games at home, even the run before we won our first game against Birmingham last month.

“Against West Bromwich Albion, we were the better team and should have won the game. We need to know that we are in good form at home and we need to take the game to Wigan on Wednesday.”

Rosenior says everyone in the Derby camp is determined to show a quickfire response to the loss at Charlton.

The Rams’ five-game unbeaten run came following a 3-0 loss at Brentford at the end of August, and Rosenior believes a similar sort of reaction is required.

He said: “One hundred percent we want to bounce back as soon as we can.

“The players have showed that. As disappointed as we all were at Brentford, you saw the response from the players.

“We have had things happen away from the pitch that have really gone against the group, against us, and they have come back and shown what they are about. They need to do that again.”
