Derby County midfielder George Evans believes the Rams’ home form should provide plenty of confidence as second-placed Preston North End travel to Pride Park Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Phillip Cocu’s men have enjoyed success on home turf this season, winning their last four games in succession.

After victories against Birmingham City, Luton Town, Wigan Athletic and Middlesbrough, the Rams now entertain Preston who are flying high in the Sky Bet Championship table.

Whilst form on the road has not been to the standard Derby have set themselves, their points return and performances at Pride Park has proven to be a huge positive.

And now Evans, who has recovered from a quad injury which ruled him out for two months earlier in the season, believes the Rams can use that to their advantage as they host the Lilywhites.

“They are in a great run and we know how dangerous they can be,” he told RamsTV.

“We have got a tough game but we know that any game at home, and even away, we back ourselves to go and beat anyone in the league.

“We know what we are capable of and we just need to go and do that on the pitch.

“Now we have a vital period coming up and we need to go and get some wins. We have four home games coming up from our next six matches, so I think that is going to be big for us.

“We want to try and transform that into the away results as well. The home form has been really good so hopefully we can go and kick on with that on Saturday and move forward into the away games.”
