Derby County’s Highest Goal Scorer Award for the 2019/20 season will be shared between two of the Rams’ strikers.

The award, presented by club partner Bavaria 0.0%, will be shared between Martyn Waghorn and Chris Martin after the pair ended the campaign with 12 goals apiece.

Waghorn’s goals came from 47 appearances in all competitions, with all 12 goals coming in the Sky Bet Championship.

The versatile frontman performed in the central striker role as well as out wide over the course of the campaign.

After joining Derby in the summer of 2018 from Ipswich Town, Waghorn has scored 25 times in 91 appearances.

Martin, meanwhile, netted his 12 goals from 38 outings across all competitions and featured throughout the campaign as a central striker.

Eleven of his goals came in the league, while he also added one further strike in the Emirates FA Cup.

Martin’s goals return for the season now has him score 76 times for the club since joining from Norwich City in 2013, which places him joint 17th in the Rams’ all-time goalscorers list.
