Manager Wayne Rooney has made four changes to the side which faced Preston North End on Tuesday night for this afternoon’s crucial Sky Bet Championship clash against Birmingham City (3pm kick-off).

One of the key changes comes in goal as the manager has elected to go with Kelle Roos ahead of David Marshall. Roos’ last appearance came against Stoke City in March prior to the international break.

Defender George Edmundson, who returned to the squad on Tuesday night and played 60 minutes off the bench, starts after recovering from a hernia injury which required surgery, whilst Martyn Waghorn, who also returned from injury on Tuesday night, also starts.

Lee Buchanan also returns to the starting line-up as Max Bird and Patrick Roberts move to the substitutes' bench, whilst Andre Wisdom misses out with a groin injury.

Graeme Shinnie wears the captain’s armband, whilst Academy defender Eiran Cashin is also named as a substitute for the first time.
