Derby County forward Tom Lawrence has been selected for Wales’ training camp in Portugal this week ahead of the upcoming UEFA European Championships.

Wales boss Robert Page has called up 28 players to begin the Red Dragons’ preparations for the tournament.

The training camp, which will be taking place in the Algarve region between 24th-29th May, will be an opportunity for the Welsh side to prepare for their upcoming friendly matches against France (2nd June) and Albania (5th June).

It will also be the last chance for players to impress the Wales coaching staff to be included in the final squad for the European Championships, which will be announced on 30th May.

Lawrence, who is 27, has 23 caps and three goals to his name for Wales and will be looking to make his mark to ensure he makes Page’s final squad.

The forward endured an injury-hit 2020/21 season for Derby, making 23 appearances in total, but he ended the season strongly with three goals in eight outings as Wayne Rooney’s side did enough to avoid finishing the campaign in the bottom three.
