Derby County’s players stepped up their preparations for the upcoming 2021/22 Sky Bet Championship season on Saturday afternoon.

Wayne Rooney’s side played a 90-minute behind-closed-doors training game against fellow Championship side Fulham at Moor Farm Training Ground.

The match was used as an opportunity to increase the Rams’ workload to conclude their first full week of pre-season training, having returned to work on Thursday 1st July.

A mixture of Derby’s first team and Under-23s players featured against the Cottagers, who are now under the management of former Everton, Watford and Hull City boss Marco Silva after their relegation from the Premier League in May.

Derby’s squad will spend next week away from Moor Farm at a training camp in the south of England as their workload continues to intensify.

They will return home at the end of next week ahead of their pre-season clash against Premier League side Manchester United at Pride Park Stadium on Sunday 18th July (1pm kick-off).
