TEAM NEWS…

Right-back Nathan Byrne is available for selection after he sat out Sunday's 3-2 victory over AFC Bournemouth as a result of being sent off for two bookings in the 1-1 draw at Millwall before the international break.

Striker Sam Baldock (hamstring) and Lee Buchanan (knee) were forced off against Bournemouth and they are having their situations assessed by Derby's medical team but they will certainly miss the game at Craven Cottage.

Polish international midfielder Krystian Bielik, who suffered an ACL knee injury in January of this year, is making good progress in his rehabilitation work but is still not yet in a position to return to full training.

MANAGER'S THOUGHTS…

Manager Wayne Rooney offered his pre-match views to RamsTV on Tuesday afternoon and he said: “Fulham have probably been the best team; I know they are sitting top of the league and you will say that they have been the best team in the division this season.

“I think they are aggressive and have the best striker in the league at the moment in Aleksandar Mitrovic. They take chances and score a lot of goals, so we know personally that we have to be at it.

“We have to try and deny them opportunities. They put a lot of crosses in the box and Mitrovic has great movement, puts his head on things but we know it’s a game that if we go there and do the right things then we have a great chance of winning.

“We are not going there to roll over or to go and try and nick a point, we know the position that we are in and we have to win games. We have to go into matches and get three points and that’s what we will be aiming to do.”

PLAYER THOUGHTS…

Youngster Liam Thompson spoke to RamsTV after training on Tuesday at Moor Farm Training Ground to look back on his full league bow against AFC Bournemouth on Sunday.

The Academy graduate said: “You want to play against the top teams.

“Bournemouth were a top team, but we showed great character, especially in the second half, and I think we deserved the win. It goes to show what we have got here.

“We are here for business and we will give anyone a good game.”

MATCH OFFICIALS…

Keith Stroud will oversee the game at Craven Cottage.

Stroud has overseen 14 games so far this season in all competitions, showing 53 yellow cards and no reds in the process.

His last Derby match was the 0-0 draw at Barnsley in March of this year as the 2020/21 season edged towards its conclusion.

Stroud will be assisted by Ian Cooper and Akil Howson on the lines, whilst John Busby has been appointed as the fourth official.

EFL SUBSTITUTE RULES…

The five substitutions rule has been scrapped for the 2021/22 season, the English Football League confirmed in July.

The rule allowing clubs to make five changes, as opposed to the usual three, was brought in following football's restart in June 2020 after a break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Given that games had to be condensed into a short period of time it was thought beneficial and allowed managers to make as many as five changes in three intervals during a match.

Clubs had a longer post-break between seasons this time around and so the temporary rule has been changed.

Teams will be able to name seven substitutes but only use a maximum of three.

STREAMING INFORMATION…

With COVID-19 capacity restrictions lifted and EFL fixtures being played in front of full crowds once again, the temporary change in streaming rules is no longer valid.
