Derby County Under-21s defender Harrison Solomon has joined local non-league side Ilkeston Town on a 28-day loan.


Ilkeston, who ply their trade in the Southern League Premier Division Central, are managed by popular former Rams forward Jamie Ward.

Solomon, 19, has risen through the Derby County Academy ranks since joining at Under-9s level and the centre-back is one of a number of players to have been with the club for several years.

The defender has made three appearances in Premier League 2 - Division 2 this season for Pat Lyons’ side, while he was also on target in the 2-1 Premier League Cup defeat at AFC Bournemouth last month.

With no competitive match until the end of October, several members of the Under-21s squad have headed out on loan in recent weeks in order to gain vital senior match minutes and Solomon is the latest to make a temporary switch.

Harrison Foulkes, Alfie Roberts, Rhys Brailsford, Cian Kelly-Caprani, Will Grewal-Pollard, Demico Burton, Ola Ibrahim, Bartosz Cybulski and George Nunn are all currently out on loan gaining important experience.
