Derby County Community Trust are set to host their first ever gala dinner, as the Black and White Fundraising Ball will be exclusively hosted at the home of Clowes Developments (UK) Ltd this summer.

The venue has never before played host to such an event, and the evening will give guests the chance to take in the surroundings of the company’s headquarters, based towards Ashbourne.

Taking place on Thursday 6th July 2023, almost a year to the day that David Clowes became the owner of Derby County, the night will shine a light on the vast range of projects delivered by the football club’s charitable arm.

Starting from 6:30pm, the night will provide guests with the opportunity to hear directly from those who have benefitted from Derby County Community Trust’s work.

Their wide remit of delivery ranges from supporting children and young people with their mental wellbeing to enabling individuals in their recovery from substance and alcohol misuse to take the next steps in their journey, and from providing sporting opportunities to those living with a disability to opening up career pathways for teenagers not in education, employment or training.

Recent projects undertaken by the Community Trust have directly combatted the rise of cost of living, with Harrison’s Hub opening within Pride Park Stadium this winter as a warm and welcome space, providing weekly meals and drop-in support sessions for some of the most vulnerable in our communities.

Fundraising for the charity is especially vital in these challenging times of economic uncertainty, when for many people demand for the organisation's support is only increasing.

David Clowes, Derby County’s owner, said: "I'm delighted we can host the Black and White Fundraising Ball for the first time, it's an honour to be involved in an event which will hopefully raise funding for the Community Trust.

"This is what a football club should be about, representing the community but also giving back to the community. Derby County is a special club to so many people and it's a privilege for us to help out."

Simon Carnall, Head of Community, said: “We’re really excited to launch the Black and White Fundraising Ball – which is unlike any event we’ve staged before.

“Our staff work tirelessly to provide opportunities for all, right across Derbyshire, and this evening will show our guests just how much we can achieve when we come together.

“Working alongside our colleagues at the football club and Clowes Developments, the evening will provide a fantastic chance to enjoy the venue and learn more about our wide-ranging delivery, accompanied by a three-course meal and fundraising initiatives.”

Local auctioneer, Charles Hanson, will lead the fundraising drive on the night, with exclusive lots available to purchase for those in the room.

Guests can look forward to a night of fun and fundraising, with three-course meal provided by local suppliers and Trust Partners Butler’s Pantry. Tickets start at £125, or £1,125 for tables of 10, and are on sale now at DerbyCountyCommunityTrust.com.
