Derby County return to Pride Park Stadium on Tuesday night when they take on Northampton Town under the floodlights in Sky Bet League One (7:45pm kick-off).

The Rams are looking to bounce back from Saturday's disappointing 3-1 defeat at Stevenage when they take on the Cobblers on home soil to round off a busy October.

In the lead-up to the game getting underway, dcfc.co.uk has brought together all the key information you need to know...

Rams Team News

Defender Eiran Cashin will miss out and serve a one-match ban after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in League One in the 3-1 loss at Stevenage on Saturday.

Midfielder Liam Thompson (quad) is progressing well in his recovery after two months out of action but is still a number of weeks away from a return to training.

On-loan Arsenal striker Tyreece John-Jules (quad) is back running on the grass but is not expected to be involved on Tuesday evening as he eases his way towards a return to training.

Defender Jake Rooney (knee) has undergone surgery on his damaged ACL and will be out of action for a lengthy period of time.

On loan Sunderland midfielder Elliot Embleton has returned to his parent club after injuring his quad in training last month and, after undergoing surgery, is to be out of action for several months.

Pre-Match Thoughts

Head Coach Paul Warne spoke to RamsTV ahead of Tuesday evening's match.

He said: "If you ever underestimate the opposition, then you are in trouble.

"Every team has something to fight for and I understand we're a scalp in this league but if we perform at the level we did on Saturday at Stevenage then we won't be a scalp for long."

Right-sider Joe Ward spoke to RamsTV following his recent return to fitness and previewed Tuesday night under the lights.

He said: "It was great to be back and a great feeling to be involved again on a matchday.

"It was good to get the minutes off the bench on Saturday, but it wasn't the result we wanted. We've got to be better, much better, and we will."

Match Officials

Simon Mather will take charge of Tuesday evening's match and he will be assisted by Johnathon Bickerdike and Sian Massey-Ellis.

Declan Bourne is on Fourth Official duties.

Mather will referee his 11th game of the campaign on Tuesday. Up to now, he's distributed 52 yellow cards, four of which have been second yellows, and three red cards. He's also awarded one penalty.
