Post-Match Verdict: 'It Was A Great Team Performance' - Adams

Midfielder Ebou Adams felt Derby County produced 'a great team performance' as they beat Blackpool 1-0 at Pride Park Stadium on Good Friday.

Adams scored the only goal of the game, his first in a Derby shirt after joining on loan from Cardiff City in January, in the first half to move the Rams six points clear of third spot in Sky Bet League One.

Speaking to RamsTV after the match, the midfielder gave his verdict on a 'massive' result for Paul Warne's side.

On how he feels after a goal and win...

I've got to give credit to the boys. They have been unbelievable and long may it continue.

On his matchwinning goal...

I just remember the ball bouncing to me and I caught it on the outside of my foot. I saw it swerve away from the goalkeeper's hand. That's when I thought 'yes'! I was running away before it even hit the net. It was a good feeling, especially after last week's loss at Northampton.

On getting redemption from his miss at Northampton...

I've been thinking about it all week, I was so annoyed at myself and didn't sleep. I worked hard in training this week, worked to put things right and hopefully I did that today.

On the reaction when he scored...

I find it hard to hear when I'm playing because I'm so focused on the game but it was good to finally score a goal because the boys have been on my back. I want to say thanks to the boys and the fans for being amazing.

On how important the win was...

It was massive. I was just thinking about not losing two in a row. The defence, the goalkeeper; they were unbelievable. It was a great team performance.

On how it's been for him observing Ramadan...

It's definitely not easy, but I've been doing it for my whole life. You fast from sunrise to sunset, with no food or water. The club have been amazing with it, they've been looking after me and making sure I don't do too much. One of the backroom staff are doing it with me, which is unbelievable and it makes things even better. A big thanks to Derby County for helping me out. I'm enjoying it and I'm thankful that I'm still putting performances in.

On why Ramadan is important for him...

As a muslim, Ramdan is one of the five pillars that needs to be done. This year it's 14 hours of fasting. It's not just about fasting, it's about looking after yourself and self-discipline and making yourself a better person. For me that's important and makes me who I am today and it reflects outside of football and on the pitch.
