Derby County are back on home soil on Saturday when they welcome Port Vale to Pride Park Stadium in Sky Bet League One action (3pm kick-off).

The Rams, who are still second, are looking to bounce back from the 2-1 home defeat to Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night, but face a Valiants side desperate for a result themselves at the other end of the table.

In the lead-up to the game getting underway, dcfc.co.uk has brought together all the key information you need to know...

Team News

Defender Callum Elder (ankle) missed Tuesday evening's defeat but is set to come back into contention for this weekend.

Midfielder Conor Hourihane (hamstring) also missed the midweek loss and will be assessed ahead of Saturday.

Defender Ryan Nyambe was forced off midway through the game against the Addicks with a muscle injury and is out for Saturday's match.

Goalkeeper Josh Vickers (quad) is progressing well on the road to recovery but is yet to return to full training with the squad.

Striker James Collins (knee) remains out of action after being sidelined in last month's 3-0 victory at Exeter City.

Striker Conor Washington (knee) is back on the grass but is yet to resume full training with the squad, having overcome a long-term ankle injury recently.

Defender Craig Forsyth (calf) was also back on the grass this week after being out of action since early January, but Saturday's match will come too soon for his inclusion.

Striker Tyreece John-Jules (hamstring) suffered a severe tear in the defeat against Reading last month that will keep him out of action for the rest of the season.

Long-term absentee Jake Rooney (knee) returned to the grass for the first time this week after tearing his ACL back in September but remains a way off a return to full training.

Pre-Match Thoughts

Head Coach Paul Warne spoke to RamsTV ahead of this weekend's match on home turf.

He said: "All the games at this stage of the season become a lot closer because there's pressure at the top and pressure at the bottom of the table. I don't think there's any more pressure on us than there is on Port Vale or Charlton Athletic. Everybody is chasing everything and it all seems more severe now. Every three points seems bigger and every zero points feels much worse, it's the psychology of it all."

Defender Kane Wilson spoke to RamsTV to preview another game on home soil.

He said: "It's just little things that we can cut out and, if we can do that, we can start getting back to where we were. It's the business end of the season now, so this is where we're supposed to put our foot down and not take it off."
