Derby County Women return to the Don Amott Arena on Sunday as they welcome Stockport County in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Second Round (2pm kick-off).

The Ewes will be looking to bounce back with a victory in the cup after last weekend’s spirited 2-0 defeat to FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division leaders Burnley at Turf Moor.
Sunday’s fixture will be Sam Griffiths’ side’s first home outing since the end of October, when the Ewes hosted Stoke City under the floodlights, and a large crowd is expected, with admission for the game FREE for fans who book in advance of matchday.

Last time out in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup, the Ewes secured an emphatic 6-0 away win over Coventry Sphinx in the first round. Griffiths will hope that performance serves as a springboard for a promising run in this year’s competition.
However, standing between the Ewes and a place in the next round are Stockport County, who compete in the FA Women’s National League North, one division below Derby, and will undoubtedly arrive eager to cause an upset.

Supporters can watch Sunday’s FA Cup action for FREE if they secure their tickets online ahead of matchday, with tickets returning to standard matchday prices for on-the-gate purchases.

Stockport County have enjoyed a mixed start to their league campaign in the FA Women’s National League North, currently sitting sixth in the league table, having recorded five wins and three losses.
The Hatters head into Sunday’s fixture off the back of a narrow 1-0 defeat to top-of-the-table Cheadle Town Stingers last weekend.
Stockport secured their Adobe Women’s FA Cup Second Round place with an impressive 3-0 victory over Tranmere Rovers last month.
Two players are currently joint at the top of Stockport’s goalscoring charts: Emily Bradshaw and Jess Battle. Both have found the net nine times in 14 appearances this season - a duo the Ewes will certainly need to keep a close eye on.
At the helm is manager Steve O’Hara, who took charge in January 2022. He led the Hatters to an excellent third-place finish in 2022/23 and has since overseen consecutive mid-table campaigns.
With both sides eager to progress, a place in the hat for the next round will be on the line at the Don Amott Arena, setting the stage for a compelling cup encounter.
