Derby County Academy defender Tristan Gill has joined Buxton FC on a short-term youth loan.

A left-back who can also operate at centre-half, Gill’s first loan switch sees him link up with the Bucks for their next half a dozen National League North matches, starting with the trip to Oxford City on Saturday.
The 19-year-old has featured regularly for Derby’s Under-21 and Under-18 sides in the previous three and a half seasons, and was rewarded with his maiden professional contract in January 2025.
Gill will be bidding to strengthen the Derbyshire-based club’s promotion push as he accrues valuable first team experience. John McGrath’s side currently sit eighth, one place below the play-off spots, ahead of this weekend’s action.
He is the latest Young Ram to secure a temporary switch to non-league, with Daniel Cox joining Wealdstone on a month-loan long, while striker Lennon Wheeldon has extended his stay with fellow National League North outfit South Shields.
