Derby County have completed the loan acquisition of attacking midfielder Sam Szmodics from Ipswich Town.

The 30-year-old has linked up with the Rams on a loan deal that runs until the end of the season.
Szmodics previously worked with John Eustace while at Blackburn Rovers in the 2023/24 season - when he netted 27 times for the Ewood Park club - and he will reunite with the Derby Head Coach while on loan at Pride Park Stadium.
The attacking midfielder joined Ipswich after leaving Rovers in August 2024. He scored four goals in 20 appearances during the Tractor Boys’ 2024/25 Premier League campaign.
The former Colchester United, Bristol City and Peterborough United man has featured on 16 occasions for Ipswich in the Championship this season.
Welcome to Derby County, Sam!
