Derby County Women will clash with Hull City Ladies in the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division at the Don Amott Arena on Sunday (2pm kick-off).

The Ewes will be looking to get back to winning ways as the season enters its final stages, after falling to defeat against league leaders Burnley last weekend.
Sam Griffiths' side will face Hull in their penultimate home fixture of the 2025/26 season, with Derby aiming to secure safety in Tier 3 with three games remaining of the campaign.
The Ewes sit three points above the drop zone, and know that a win could grow the gap of safety and move them within one point of the Tigresses, who sit ninth.

Tickets for Sunday’s match are still available to buy, with the gates opening at 12:30pm at the Don Amott Arena.

Hull City Ladies FC, nicknamed The Tigresses, were founded in 2001 and have developed into one of the leading independent women’s clubs in Yorkshire. Unlike many sides, they are not formally affiliated with Hull City AFC, operating instead as a standalone organisation within the women’s football pyramid.

The club began in local leagues before steadily climbing the system, earning promotion to the Northern Combination League in 2007 and later progressing through the restructured tiers of the women’s game. A key milestone came in 2014/15, when Hull won promotion to the FA Women’s Premier League Division One North, signalling their emergence as a competitive force.
Their most significant progress has come in recent years. After relegation in 2021/22, Hull responded strongly, rebuilding and securing the FA Women’s National League Division One North title in 2023/24, sealing promotion back to the third tier with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Leeds United.
Now competing in the FA WNL Northern Premier Division, the club has shown steady on-field performance and ambition to consolidate at a higher level. However, 2025 brought major off-field challenges, including financial and governance concerns that cast uncertainty over the club’s future.
Despite this, Hull remain a resilient and competitive side, aiming to stabilise and continue their upward trajectory in the women’s game.

The points were shared when the Ewes and the Tigresses met in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, with Hope Knight's goal for the hosts being cancelled out by a second-half rocket from Olivia Edwards.
