INTERVIEW: "We Want To Get Derby County To The Premier League" - Clark

Now a permanent resident of DE24, Bobby Clark has outlined his desire to help Derby County ascend to the Premier League.

The 21-year-old became the Rams’ first signing of the summer on Monday, after the former loanee put pen-to-paper on a permanent transfer from RB Salzburg.

The playmaker, a fans’ favourite last season, agreed a four-year deal as he swapped the Bundesliga for the Championship.

Speaking to RamsTV, Clark stated e has unfinished business as he targets a push towards the top flight of English football.

On His Return To Pride Park

If I’m being honest, I did think I would play for the club again. I made that clear and people at the club did as well.

I think people could tell, the way I enjoyed being here and the when the fans would ask me to stay, I’d have to say: ‘Oh, we’ll see,’ but I knew deep down that I wanted to come back.

On Why He Wanted To Sign Permanently

From the very beginning, the gaffer put trust in me, got me up to speed and then I got the minutes I needed on the pitch.

I enjoyed everything about the club, the team, everyone working for the club, the fanbase. I thought it was the perfect destination for me.

It was a big decision because I obviously want to reach my potential. I needed to pick my next step carefully and this club definitely suits me. I think, being at Derby, I’ll just get better and better.

On His Goals With The Rams

I think everyone at the club knows where we want to be - we want to get Derby County into the Premier League.

Obviously, we just fell short last season but I'm sure we can build on it and hopefully get it done.

On His Relationship With Head Coach John Eustace

He had conversations with me towards the end of last season saying that he wanted me to come back and, since it’s been close to getting done, he’s had some more really positive conversations with me.

He knows that he can be the manager that can help me reach my potential and help me grow as a player.

On Dion Sanderson’s Influence On His Decision

Yes, Agent Sanderson needs some credit, too. I’ve spent a lot of time with him this summer and he’s been in my ear constantly.

I was with Dion in Mykonos when I had a phone call from the manager.

On Returning To The Dressing Room

It was probably why I settled as quickly as I did, because it was such a good group of lads and everyone was coming together to get as high as we could and do as well as we could.

When you come into a dressing-room like that, it makes it a hell of a lot easier.

On His Message To The Fans

I've seen them all over social media. Now I'm buzzing to be here and they're a big factor in why I enjoyed it so much.
