Freeman Earns Wales U21 Call-Up

Defender heads off on international duty.

Derby County full-back Kieron Freeman has today landed a call-up to the latest Wales Under 21 squad.

The 21-year-old right-back, who has made seven appearances for Derby this season, has been named in Geriant Williams’ squad for their UEFA 2015 Championships qualifying matches at home to Lithuania and San Marino.

The matches will be played on Friday 11th and Tuesday 15th October.

Freeman has 12 Wales Under 21 caps to his name, the latest of which came in a 1-0 defeat to San Marino in September.

Freeman won’t miss any first-team matches as a result of the call-up and will re-join the Derby squad in time for the trip to Watford in the Rams’ first game after the international break on Saturday 19th October.
