Former Derby County players Robin van der Laan and Tommy Johnson will be attending a special ‘Q&A Night’ at the iPro Stadium this week.
The duo will be appearing at Igor’s Restaurant on Thursday 19th February 2015 from 7:30pm through to 10pm.
The pair, who were popular figures amongst the Rams’ faithful, will look back on their playing careers with the Club and take questions from supporters on the night.
Places are available for £12 per person, which includes admission and a pizza and chips dinner.
Midfielder van der Laan, now 46, joined Derby in August 1995 and spent three years with the Club.
He made 77 appearances in a Rams shirt, scoring 11 times. He was named captain by manager Jim Smith, who brought him to the Baseball Ground and was an influential and effective member of the team that gained promotion to the Premiership in 1995/96.
Van der Laan scored the crucial goal which sealed promotion to the top flight against Crystal Palace in 1996, etching his name into Derby County folklore.
He went on to play for Wolves, on loan, and then Barnsley before retiring from professional football.
Johnson, who is now 44, scored 41 goals in 129 appearances between March 1992 and January 1995 following his arrival from Notts County.
He scored for Derby in their heartbreaking Play-Off Final defeat to Leicester City in 1994 and his impressive form eventually resulted in a move to Premier League Aston Villa.
Johnson later went on to turn out for Celtic, Everton, Sheffield Wednesday, Kilmarnock, Gillingham, Sheffield United and Scunthorpe, before dropping into the non-league scene with Tamworth and eventually hanging up his boots.
