Emil Riis Jakobsen has become the third Derby County Under-23s player to head out on loan over the past week after joining Eredivisie side VVV-Venlo on a deal until the end of the season.


The first temporary spell of his career, the Danish forward, who played a crucial in the Under-23s retaining their Premier League 2 Division 1 status towards the back end of last season, will gain his first serious taste of first team exposure.

Jakobsen will be hoping to make his debut when Venlo when they return to action on Saturday 20th January against Den Haag.

The Rams forward joins a side residing tenth in the Dutch top-flight after 18 games

Kellan Gordon, Timi Max Elsnik (both Swindon Town), Max Lowe, (Shrewsbury Town) and Charles Vernam (Grimsby Town) are also out on loan until the end of the campaign.
