Mitchell Makes Shrewsbury Town Switch

Derby County goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell has joined Sky Bet League One side Shrewsbury Town.

Mitchell has linked up with Sam Ricketts’ side in a loan deal which will run for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign.

Shrewsbury sit 19th in League One and Mitchell is expected to go straight into their squad for Saturday’s home game against Luton Town.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper recently returned to Pride Park Stadium from a half-season loan at Oxford United.

Mitchell made 15 appearances during his time with Karl Robinson’s side in all competitions.

The former England Under-21 international has made five first-team appearances for the Rams after arriving in the summer of 2014 from Newcastle United.
