Jayden Mitchell-Lawson has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for his impressive performances during February for Derby County's Under-23s.


The 19-year-old winger started in each of the four fixtures for Darren Wassall’s side last month, uncluding a 1-0 league victory over Leicester City as well as a 2-1 win over Aston Villa and an 8-1 victory over Bristol City in the Premier League Cup.

Mitchell-Lawson bagged a first-half hat-trick and provided an assist against Bristol City last weekend to send the Rams through to the round of 16 as Group F winners.

So far this season, the creative wideman has made 23 appearances for the Under-23s, providing five goals and five assists.

He has also been named in his first matchday squad with the first-team this season when Frank Lampard’s men defeated Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup Fourth Round at the end of January.

Mitchell-Lawson is one of six nominees along with Bassala Sambou from Everton, Jeremie Frimpong from Manchester City, Jonathan Afolabi from Southampton, Benjamin Mbunga-Kimpioka from Sunderland and Morgan Rogers from West Bromwich Albion.
