Derby County's on-loan defender Fikayo Tomori put in a man of the match performance last night as England's Under-21s drew 1-1 with Poland.

The 21-year-old centre-back played the full 90 minutes at Bristol City’s Ashton Gate yesterday and earned plaudits for his solid display at the heart of the defence.

The Young Lions took the lead on 13 minutes through Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s close range effort but they were pegged back on 34 minutes as Sebastian Szymanski curled a free kick past Angus Gunn in the England goal.

Elsewhere, Derby County youngsters Eiran Cashin and Jaden Charles both featured for the Republic of Ireland Under-18s yesterday.

Cashin played the opening hour whilst Charles came on as a 75th minute substitute. However, they were beaten 4-0 by Turkey.
