Harry Wilson has been nominated for the 2018/19 EFL Young Player of the Season, sponsored by EA Sports, following an impressive campaign with Derby County.

The on-loan Liverpool attacking midfielder has enjoyed his first full campaign away from Merseyside with Frank Lampard’s side after arriving on a season-long loan deal back in July.

The 22-year-old currently tops the Rams’ goalscoring chart with 12 goals in all competitions, from 37 appearances, whilst he also has four assists to his name.

Five of those goals have come direct from free-kicks, including a stunning 30-yard strike against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup victory at Old Trafford back in September.

Wilson has netted nine goals from outside the penalty area for the Rams this season and won the club’s Goal of the Month competition consecutively between September and January.

The midfielder has been nominated alongside Norwich City’s Max Aarons and Luton Town’s James Justin.

As sponsor of the award, EA Sports will be hosting an online vote equating to 25% of the overall result, with the other 75% made up of votes from the EFL Awards judging panel.

The EA Sports Young Player of the Season will be announced and presented on the night at the 2019 EFL Awards on Sunday 7th April, to be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
